Harvested on October 15, 1998, the grapes were picked at 24.4 brix. Alcohol is 13.9%, total acidity is 0.64 grams/100ml and the pH is at 3.52. 2,500 cases were made. Just released is the 1998 Foppiano Vineyards Petite Sirah, Sonoma County produced from various vineyards including some old vine vineyards throughout the county. This is what a Petite Sirah should taste like! This wine has huge structure of deep, rich purple colors and concentrated flavors from nose to finish. The aroma is a ripe package of berries, chocolate, and spice, leading to an explosive mouthful of boysenberry, black pepper and vanilla. The pedigree of fruit in this wine makes it one to be savored and enjoyed. Harvested on October 26-27, 1998, the grapes were picked at 23.4 brix. Alcohol is 13.0%, total acidity is 0.64 grams/100ml and the pH is at 3.64. The wine was aged 12 months in two-year old air-dried American oak barrels. 8,000 cases were made. Newly released is the 1998 Foppiano Vineyards Pinot Noir, Estate Bottled Russian River Valley produced from our estate vineyards in one of the finest viticultural regions for growing Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley. Aged in oak barrels, this bright ruby, aromatic wine is a delicious example of how well Pinto Noir is suited to our appellation's climate. A new vintage of 1998 Foppiano Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Bottled Russian River Valley was made entirely from fully mature, fifteen year old vines grown on the family's Russian River Valley Estate. Full-bodied and deep-colored, the wine's aroma hints of mint and anise giving way to pronounced blackberry and currant. A cedar and vanilla bouquet are matched with comparable character in the flavors from one year in oak. Serve with meat, hearty pasta dishes, full-flavored cheeses, roast pork or our favorite -roasted wild boar. Harvested on October 21-23, 1998, the grapes were picked at 24.2 brix.
